This calculator is only for visitors who are both foreign nationals and non-residents of Costa Rica; it does not calculate charges for foreign residents or nationals. Our calculation: adults × the area's printed foreign or non-resident adult rate + children × its printed child rate, in US dollars, for ticked areas. Each area's own wording is in its "SINAC's words" box: some say "no residente", others "extranjeros". Where no child rate is printed, children are left out of that area's line and the line says so; age bands are shown only where SINAC prints them. Free-entry exemptions (such as Tenorio's under-2s) are not subtracted. This is entry only, not a complete trip cost.
Check before you go. Hours, fees and rules change. Confirm each area on its SINAC page, for example SINAC: Parque Nacional Rincón de la Vieja and SINAC: Parque Nacional Volcán Tenorio; we last found these words there on October 16, 2026.
Using the planner
The planner reads two things from each SINAC page: the opening days and hours, and the entry fee for visitors who are both foreign nationals and non-residents. Pick a day and it shows which sectors SINAC lists as open, with their hours and any seasonal exception; enter your group and it adds up those fees for the areas you tick.
The total is our arithmetic on SINAC's printed rates for foreign non-resident visitors and nothing else. It leaves out guides, cave tours, camping, parking, exemptions and exchange-rate differences, and it skips any area or child rate SINAC doesn't print. Rates for Costa Rican nationals and residents differ by area and are quoted on the park pages where SINAC prints them. Where SINAC publishes ticketing or reservation instructions, the park page quotes them.
Our explanation of the quoted facts on this page; it adds no facts of its own.
